CARIBOU – Deus J. Moreau Sr., 77, died Aug. 31, 2005, at Caribou. He was born in St. Anne, N.B. Canada, July 5, 1928, the son of Henry and Marie (Ruest) Moreau. He married Marie Hitchcock Moreau, Dec. 3, 1949. Mr. Moreau was employed as a mechanic for the Birds Eye Div. of General Foods in Caribou for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a former Third Degree member of the Fred V. Brescia Council Knights of Columbus. Deus served as the scoutmaster for Troop 184 for many years and was a volunteer at Cary Medical Center. He loved to camp and fish with his family and friends at Fall River and in the Allagash as well as riding snowmobiles. Surviving, in addition to his wife of more than 55 years, Marie, of Caribou; are his two sons and daughters-in-law, Deus “Danny” and Cathy Jo Moreau Jr. of Monticello and Paul and Dianne Moreau of E. Hartford, Conn.; one sister, Gloria Hebert of Caribou; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six sisters and three brothers. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, officiating.
