DIANE C. JOHNSON STEUBEN and CLEAR-WATER, Fla. – Diane C. Johnson, 49, went to be with the Lord Feb. 26, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Diane was born June 8, 1958, in Parma Heights, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Rose Czernecki. Diane lived most of her life in Clearwater, Fla., with her husband, James; and children, Michael and Julia. She fell in love with Maine after spending many summers in Steuben in the cabin she and James built, and moved to Steuben in 2004. She worked for the U.S. Postal service and retired after an injury in 1995 and was able to be with her children at home. She was a loving mother involved in many activities with her children. She was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout den mother for many years. She loved to sew and had a small embroidery business in Florida. Her favorite thing was entertaining and cooking. If you got invited to one of her dinners, you were in for a real treat. She is survived by her husband, James; and her children, Michael and Julia; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paul and Tina Johnson of Tampa, Fla., and Steuben; brother, Dan and his wife, Erin Czernecki, of Troy N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Melody Johnson of Steuben; brother and sister-in-law, Conrad and Kim Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Clark Johnson and Teri Birk of Fithian, Ill.; two nephews and one niece, Kyle Johnson of Fithian, Ill., Ben and Kristina Johnson of Tampa, Fla. She and her family attended Milbridge Congregational Church. A memorial service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Milbridge Congre-gational Church, 10 Bridge St., Milbridge.
