DOLORES ELIZABETH (RAND) BEAULIEU BANGOR – Dolores Elizabeth (Rand) Beaulieu, 83, died Dec. 20, 2003, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Chatham, New Brunswick, the daughter of Harold and Etta (Simpson) Rand. Dolores was a proofreader at the Bangor Daily News for many years and was an avid reader who loved books. She spent much time browsing the Brewer and Bangor libraries looking for a good mystery or spy novel by her favorite authors. She was a loyal fan of the Red Sox and at times the Toronto Blue Jays. She was extremely proud of her Canadian and Scottish heritage and was pleased that she could visit Canada often and once England and Scotland. She had much love and respect for her parents, her siblings, her husband, Tom, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dolores was a caring person who had many close friends. She will be truly missed. She is survived by a son, Thomas Libbey and wife, Janice, of Bangor; a daughter, Rebecca Spaulding and husband, Robert, of Bangor; a daughter-in-law, Kim Libbey of Brewer; a step-daughter, Sylvia Russell of Dover, N.H.; two sisters, Dorothy MacLeod and Janet Ramsdell, both of Bangor; a brother, Kenneth Rand of Brewer; seven grandchildren, Amy, Jenne, Kyle, Kristin, Eric, Lisa and Lori; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by a son, Kenneth; and her husband, Leo “Tom” H. Beaulieu, in 1996. Friends are invited to meet with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the First Congregational Church of Brewer with the Rev. Constance S. Chase Wells, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the church reception hall immediately following the services. Interment will be in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
