STEUBEN – Donald E. Dorr, 50, died unexpectedly at his home in Steuben, Dec. 4, 2003. He was born Oct. 14, 1953, at Portland, the son of Lyle and Lorraine (Thurlow) Dorr. He graduated from South Portland High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1971-1972. Donnie loved Bingo and played all over the state. He was an avid Red Sox fan and was always looking forward to next year. He was a great fan of the Miami Dolphins. In addition to his mother, Lorraine of Steuben, he is survived by his son, Jason Dorr and his companion, Erica, and her son, Dorian, all of South Portland; his twin brother, David E. Dorr of Steuben; two other brothers, Lyle Dorr Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Bradenton, Fla., and Robert R. Dorr Sr. and his wife, Stanya, of Steuben; his two aunts, Myrtress Harrington of Steuben, and Gladys Dorr of Westbrook; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be remembered by a special friend, his former wife Shelia Dorr of Westbrook. He will also be missed by his dog, Taz. He was predeceased by his father, Lyle Dorr Sr.; and his sister, Heidi Dorr Weimer. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the Steuben Union Church, Steuben.
