GLEN ROCK, Pa., and CARIBOU – Donald I. Wyman, 55, passed away July 17, 2008, at York Hospital, Pennsylvania. Don was born Feb. 19, 1953, in Perth, New Brunswick, the son of Marjorie (Davidson) Wyman Bell and Chester Wyman. Donald was predeceased by his fathers, Chester Wyman and Frederick E. Bell; and a niece, Lindsey McLauchlan. He will be greatly missed and remembered by his wife of 31 years, Cynthia (Holt); son Travis and his partner, Sarah, and grandsons, Bryce and Kaleb, all of Glen Rock, Pa. Don grew up in a large and loving family, which included his sister, Norma (Wyman) Thompson and her husband, Robert, of Caribou, their daughter, Stephanie and their son, Bryan and his wife, Melissa (Knight) and their children, Sydney and Landon; his sister, Vicki (Bell) Lizotte and her husband, Don, of Serbia, and their children J’aime and Joe; his brother, Fred Bell and his wife, Lynn (Habeeb), of Cross Lake and their son, Alex; his sister, Mary (Wyman) McLauchlan and her husband, Paul, of Woodland and their sons, Ian and Justin; his sister, Sheila (Bell) Currie and her husband, Noel, of Presque Isle and their daughters, Emilee, Rilee, Libbee and Maggee; and his sister, Helen (Bell) Necevski and her husband, Zlatko, of Oakland and their daughters, Mikhaila and Madison. Don graduated from Caribou High School in 1971 and graduated from Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, in 1976 with a degree in marine engineering. After graduation he worked at Bethlehem Steel for three years and he decided to utilize his degree by joining the U.S. Merchant Marine as a third engineer, and he was associated with the MEBA Union. The last ship he worked on was the Liberty Star, where he worked as a first engineer until his illness in 2005. Even though he sailed on many vessels traveling the world, his heart was always in Maine. He enjoyed spending time restoring antique vehicles, a trade he learned from his dad. Other enjoyments were the History Channel, music and time with family and friends, but one of his greatest enjoyments was spending his summers at his camp on Long Lake, where each year Family Weekend was celebrated. The family will always feel blessed that Don was able to attend Family Weekend this past July 4, and those memories will always be treasured. In honor of his wishes, his ashes will remain at Long Lake.
