HERMON – Donald Richard Reynolds, 81, husband of Winnotta S. (Carleton) Reynolds, went home to be with his Lord, Oct. 30, 2005, surrounded by his family at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born June 28, 1924, in Calais, the son of Clifton H. and Lillian (Billings) Reynolds. Donald was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He worked for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad as a conductor for 32 years. Don was a long-time member of the West Hampden Baptist Church. He was active in the building of the new church and served as the church custodian for many years. For the past two years he was a member of the Hermon Baptist Church. Don and Winotta have enjoyed summers the last 17 years in the out-of-doors at Living Waters Christian campground on East Grand Lake. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle Christian man with good wit, and as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Donald is survived by his wife of 17 1/2 years, Winnotta, of Hermon; five children, Robert G. Reynolds of Tennessee, Gary R. Reynolds and his wife, Kathy, of Hermon, Dawn Marie Demmons and her husband, Thomas, of Carmel, Susan B. Hawes and her husband, Randy, of Carmel and Jolene Amy Good and her husband, Eric, of Monticello; one brother, Harvard E. Reynolds and his wife, Helen, of Bangor; one sister, Geraldine Hustus of Vermont; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elsie (Grant) Reynolds in 1987; and a brother, Harold C. Reynolds. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hermon Baptist Church, 2496 Route 2, Hermon, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church and the Rev. Robert Henderson, officiating. Interment will be in Snow’s Corner Cemetery, Hermon.
