CARIBOU – Dora M. Hewitt, 75, wife of the late Franklin A. Hewitt, died March 28, 2004, at her Caribou residence. She was born Feb. 1, 1929, at Perham, the daughter of Charles and Leroney (Knowlton) Murphy. Dora was educated in the Caribou school system and was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a lifetime member of the Caribou United Baptist Church, where she was a member of the McGorman Philathia Sunday school class and was a former member of the Beulah Burgess Mission Circle. Mrs. Hewitt was a member of the Caribou Historical Society. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Flint and Inger Lisa Hewitt of Caribou; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Carla Hewitt of Tucson, Ariz., Carol E. Olson of Presque Isle, Susan and Herman Supernaunt of Brewer and Kathleen and Samuel LaChance Jr. of Presque Isle; 11 grandchildren, Monicalyn, Randell, Frank and Rebecca McCully, Crystal Olson, Amy Dionne, Kemuel and Tristan LaChance, Alice, Franklin and Tyler Hewitt; four great-grandchildren, Heather, Hollie, Melode and Catie; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hewitt was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 1991. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with the Rev. David Goupille officiating. Interment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery.
