LILLE – Doreen A. Chasse, 55, died April 11, 2007, at a Van Buren health care facility after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Lille, the daughter of Octave and Aline (Picard) Caron. She was educated in local schools and was a 1970 graduate of Van Buren District High School. Doreen worked for a brief time as a secretary in the law office of Rudolph Pelletier in Madawaska. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 147, Madawaska. For the past several years she was an active volunteer at Borderview Nursing and Rehab Center, Van Buren. She loved helping others anytime she could and was unselfishly dedicated to her family. She enjoyed being with people, especially when playing cards, bingo and motorcycling. She loved antiquing, caring for her home and flower gardens and had a special fondness for angels. Her husband, sons, grandsons and daughters-in-law were, however, the center of her life. Doreen is survived by her husband, Philip Chasse of Lille; two sons, Travis Chasse and his wife, Tina, of Grand Isle and Jeremy Chasse and his wife, Desiree; and the granddog, D.J., all of Auburn; two grandsons, Dustin and Jacob; three brothers, Roger Caron of Turkey, Roy Caron of Newington, Conn., and Robert Caron of Van Buren; two sisters, Anne Charity and Alice Gendreau, both of Lille. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Aline Lasane. She will also be sadly missed by her many friends and extended family. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gerard-Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Grand Isle. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lille, later this spring. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, in care of Northern Maine Medical Center, 143 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
