MADISON – Dorine R. Tupper, 85, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 7, 1919, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Berfield and Elizabeth (Cumming) Langley. After graduating from Aroostook Central Institute in 1937 she worked in the superintendent’s office in Mars Hill. During the years of World War II she was employed by the transportation department at Presque Isle Army Air Field. She married Edgar W. Tupper on June 6, 1946 in Easton and lived in East Madison for many happy years. Dorine enjoyed her lovely gardens, her friends, and pets. She also liked doing clerical work for local businesses, staying longest at Key Bank, formerly known as Depositors Trust Company. She was predeceased by her husband who died October 1985, her parents, a brother Earl B. Langley and sister-in-law Adelia McCarthy. She is survived by her brother, William C. Langley and wife, Marion, of Mars Hill; sister-in-law, Ethelyn Langley of Presque Isle and Florida; four nephews, Donald, Glen, Wayne, and Brent Langley; two nieces, Cheryl Wark and Paula Reardon as well as great nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, and good neighbors. Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, at the funeral home with Mr. Frank Porter and Mr. Shannon Myers officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Solon. Donations may be made in Dorine’s memory to a charity of ones choice.
