HAMPDEN – Doris C. White, 91, died March 24, 2005, at a local Bangor nursing home. She was born Oct. 5, 1913, in Corona, N.Y., Queens, the daughter of Margaret (Kilgus) and Felix F. Murray. Doris was raised in Balboa, Panama Canal Zone, where she met her husband, a sailor, Kenneth C. White of Hampden. Doris was a devoted and nurturing mother of seven, all of whom survive. They and their spouses are Linda and Roger Newcomb of Swanville; Patricia and Robert Stanford of Anderson, S.C.; Kay and Carson Carlisle of Alexandria, Va.; Judith and Philip Elson of Moneta, Va.; Peter and Donna White of Hampden; Michael and Geraldine White of Annandale, Va.; and Susan and George Ash of Glenburn. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, as well as a dear friend, Wilbur Emery of Hampden. Doris willed her body to the New England School of Medicine. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Gifts in her memory may be made to Spruce Run, P.O.
