HULLS COVE – Elliott J. Higgins Jr., 86, died April 3, 2005, in Bar Harbor. He was born April 7, 1918, in Southwest Harbor, the son of Elliott J. and Gertrude (Dorr) Higgins Sr. Elliott served in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Seabee’s, the Bar Harbor VFW, Post No. 25, the Masonic Lodge No. 185 of Bar Harbor and he attended Church at Church of Our Father in Hulls Cove. Elliott worked as a car salesman for Morang-Robinson and Bar Harbor Motor Company for many years. He is survived by two sons, Elliott Higgins III and wife, Fran, of Hawaii and Jack Higgins and wife, Lorraine, of Merrimack, N.H.; one daughter, Rosanne Stapleford and husband, David, of Nashua, N.H.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Elliott was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy W. Higgins; a son, Warren William Higgins; and a daughter, Nancy Harrington and her son, John Polchies. Services of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at Church of Our Father, Hulls Cove, with the Rev. Chuck Bradshaw officiating. Following the service there will be a reception at the church vestry. Spring interment will be at Seal Harbor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elliott’s memory may be made to Church of Our Father, for the Organ Fund, P.O. Box 186, Hulls Cove, ME 04644.
