NEWBURGH – Doris Esther (Goss) Gerow, 94, passed away peacefully Nov. 25, 2006, at a Bangor nursing home. She was born March 15, 1912, in Orrington, the daughter of Ora and Ethel (Albee) Goss. Doris lived in Orrington for many years and was a graduate of Bangor High School. She later moved to Newburgh, where she made her home for 60 years. Doris was a salesperson for most of her life. She enjoyed animals, especially dogs and cats, working in her flower garden and making floral arrangements. She is survived by a son, Harold L. Gerow and his wife, Barbara, of Bangor and Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, Lester Goss of Largo, Fla.; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Merrill I. Gerow; a son, Lawrence M. Gerow; a brother, Raymond Goss; and by two sisters, Bessie Frost and Alice Brown. Private family interment will be in the springtime at Croxford Cemetery, Newburgh. Gestures of remembrance may be made to Westgate Manor, Alzheimer’s Unit, 750 Union St., Bangor, ME 04401.
