CARMEL – Doris E. Vicnaire 84, died Sept 24, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Carmel, the daughter of Percy and Avis (Mitchell) Shaw. She was educated in schools of Carmel. Doris was married to Willie A. Vicnaire who died in 1970. She worked in local factories in the Bangor and Brewer area and also worked for Viner Shoe for 14 years in Bangor. Doris liked to draw and write. She kept a journal of her family history. She also liked to knit and crochet items for her family and friends. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Sonny and Diane Vicnaire of Kelseyville, Calif., Glendon and Melanie Vicnaire of Morriston Fla., Merle and Jeanette Vicnaire of Etna; one daughter and her husband, Delma and Maynard Dunton of Carmel; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grand-children, nine great-great- grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Harland, Therle, and Lillian. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept 26, 2004, at the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Burt Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans.
