MACHIAS – Doris I. Jordan, 75, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 12, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 11, 1930, in Machiasport, the daughter of the late Victor and Clara (Colbeth) Pettegrow. Doris spent many years working in the local fish and blueberry factories. Doris loved her family and took great pride in taking care of them. She loved her grandchildren dearly and had a special relationship with her grandson, Brandan. Doris was a woman of great honesty and integrity. She enjoyed listening to country music and also, Daniel O’Donnell. She especially enjoyed the song “Singing in the Veil of White Lace.” She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Donald J. Jordan of Machias; children, Linda Beverly and husband, William, of East Machias; and Donald A. Jordan and wife, Lisa, of Machiasport; seven grandchildren, Brandan, Meagan, Tina, William Jr., Stacey, John Jr. and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Christian Earl, Hunter, Tiffany, Kaitlyn, Technisa, Zachary and Jasmine; sisters, Jeanie, Edna, Judy, Charlene and Edith; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Louise Farrington, and Faye Ryan. Doris was predeceased by her first husband, Earl Kinghorn Jr.; a son, Johnny E. Pettegrow; and sisters, Alice and Ida. Visiting hours will take place 11-1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., officiated by Michael Hatt.
