DEER ISLE – Doris M. Conary, 98, died May 28, 2008, at Island Nursing Home, Deer Isle. She was born March 26, 1910, in South Blue Hill, the daughter of Alvin B. and Jennie (Carter) Friend. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Damariscotta Baptist Church and was baptized in 1996. She is survived by daughter, Pearla Allison of Stonington; son, Alphonse Haskell and wife, Ethelyn; sister, Glenice M. Church of Penobscot; 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren, one stepgrandchild; and a special cousin, Rachel Monson. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Emery Conary; son, Maynard and wife, Lucille; son, Burton and wife, Beatrice; sister, Ethel Friend; brothers, Bert and wife, Louise Friend, and Loring Friend; and granddaughter, Chrystal Claudio. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, at South Blue Hill Cemetery. Contributions in Doris’s memory may be made to Island Nursing Home, P.O.
