OLD TOWN – Doris Virginia (Blanchard) Doucette, 90, died peacefully Aug. 5, 2005, surrounded by family. She was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Bradley, a daughter of Louis and Ellie (Mushrall) Blanchard. She was employed at local restaurants and shoe factories. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Old Town Senior Citizens, the Ladies of St. Ann and R.S.V.P. She enjoyed time volunteering at St. Joseph’s Thrift Shop and her many visits with family. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends made throughout her lifetime. She is survived by two sons, Edward Doucette and his wife, Patricia and Cyril Arasate Doucette and his wife, Janet, all of Old Town; four daughters, Constance Ogden and her husband, Norman, of Stillwater, Gloria Stephens, Rose Cote and her husband, Richard, all of Old Town, Charlene Jackson and her husband, Alfred Sr., of Bradley; daughter-in-law, Marlene Doucette of Orono; two brothers, Gordon King of Bradley, Gerald King of Gouldsboro; three sisters, Esther Gill of Beverly, Mass., Theresa Cote of Bradley and Norma Jean Cote of Fort Myers, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren, and great-stepgrandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; and stepfather, Louis L. King Sr.; her husband, Leo J. Doucette; a son, Joseph A. Doucette; great-grandson, Anthony R. Doucette; three brothers, Raymond Blanchard, Charles King, and Louis L. King Jr.; three sisters, Ellen Blake, Lucy Alair and Martha Cosseboom. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, at Holy Family Parish. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley. Immediately following the committal service all are invited to return to the Holy Family Parish Center for a light luncheon.
