BANGOR and BREWER Doris W. Gatchell, 86, died Feb. 4, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born June 22, 1921, in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of George H. and Myrtle (Woodbury) Spurr. Doris was formerly employed as a secretary with W.T. Grant Co. Surviving are her husband, Henry O. Gatchell of Bangor; one son, Steven G. Gatchell of Brewer; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Mildred Smith, Muriel D’urso and Ruth Cronin; and a brother, Donald Spurr. Relatives and friends are invited to call 1-3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, with Brother Don Martell officiating.
