DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Hervey C. Livermore Jr., 88, of East Corinth and Delray Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, with his loving family around him, after a short illness, at home. Born June 30, 1919, in Westbrook, he was the son of Hervey C. Livermore Sr. and Marion Mayberry Livermore Timmons. He was educated in Windham and Gorham schools and graduated from Gorham High School in 1937. He was married to Barbara Ellen Tuttle for 62 years; she passed away in March 2003. Hervey was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Norfolk, Va., as a fireman first class, from 1941 to 1946. He was employed with Merrill Transport, Portland, for 35 years. He was a member for more than 50 years in the Knights of Pythias, Falmouth and Col. Brewer Lodge No. 56, Brewer, and was a deacon at West Falmouth Free Baptist Church, Falmouth. Surviving are his two daughters, Mary-Ellen Liver-more Maybury Randall and her husband, David, of Delray Beach, Fla., and Marion Celia Livermore Shattuck Shrubsole and her husband, David, of Hythe, England; a sister, Mary Jane Lyman of North Conway, N.H.; a niece, Ann Lyman Diskin and her husband, Brian, of Lovell; a stepbrother, Calvin Timmons of Sebastian, Fla.; grandchildren, Mark William Maybury and his wife, Teresa, of Brewer, Penny Sue Maybury Allard and her husband, Roger, of Brewer, Hilary Shattuck Wright and her husband, David, of Pembury, England, and Whitney Shattuck of London; great-grandchildren, Michael Robert Maybury and Michele Ruth Maybury of Bre-wer, James Murray Wright and Alex Douglas Wright of Pembury, England, great-stepgrand-children, Amanda Vargo of Bangor, Matthew and Paul Bolstridge of Kingman and Jamie Bolstridge Ashton and her husband, Kevin, of Brewer; great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Vargo, Matthew Bolstridge and Reese Vargo of Bangor; nephew, Norman Mayberry of Limington; great-niece, Karen Mayberry Donahue and her husband, Mark, of Kissimmee, Fla.; and numerous friends in Maine and Florida. Special thanks to Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton for the gentle care given to him. A service for the family will be held 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the chapel at Hospice by the Sea. Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486-3395 or a charity of your choice. Plans are being made to set up a scholarship in Hervey and Barbara Livermore’s names for a student entering the nursing profession. A memorial service in Windham will be held at a later date.
