DOVER-FOXCROFT Dorothea L. Melvin, 89, died July 2, 2004, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born on the 4th of July, 1914, in Parkman, a daughter of Daniel and Elsie (Fisher) Smart. She worked many years as a spinner at Dumbarton Woolen Mill in Sangerville, Guilford Industries in Guilford, and Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald; a son, Leon; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Melvin. Dorothea is survived by three daughters, Maxine and husband, Francis Brawn, of Dover-Foxcroft, Geraldine and husband, Hubert Tremblay, Debborah and husband, Michael Woodbury; and a son, Wayne Melvin, all of Dexter; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7. Burial will be in the Pingree Center Cemetery, Parkman.
