BANGOR – Dorothy A. Hamilton, 82, died March 7, 2006, at Maine Veterans’ Home. She was born Oct. 10, 1923, the daughter of Clarence and Florence (Hinkley) Alley. Dorothy was a long-time resident of Bangor and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Bangor chapter of the DAR. She is survived by her children, Carole and her husband, Paul Viel, of Connecticut, Joyce and her husband, Bruce Kennedy, of Eddington and Edward and his wife, Mary Ann Hamilton, of Newburgh; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, niece and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clement; parents; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Mildred. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. March 11, at the First United Methodist Church, Essex Street, Bangor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Maine, 163 Lancaster St., Portland, ME 04101. Arrangements by the Greenlawn Funeral Directors, Bangor.
