PENOBSCOT – Dorothy A. Webster, 87, died Feb. 27, 2008, at a local health care facility. She was born June 7, 1920, in Penobscot, the daughter of Pearl S. Hutchins and Maggie (Clements) Hutchins. Dorothy spent her childhood in Penobscot and attended Penobscot Elementary School, as well as Clark High School. She married Lewis B. Webster, Dec. 4, 1948, and together they owned and operated Webster’s Garage on Castine Road, Penobscot, for 36 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and had them over for visits often. She greatly enjoyed gar-dening and grew many beautiful flowers in and around her home on Castine Road. She is survived by her dau-ghter, Patricia (Hutchins) and husband, Kenneth S. Flannery; brother, Oakley Hutchins; grand-sons, Kenneth P. Flannery, Michael R. Flannery and his wife, Carol, Steven B. Flannery and his wife, Terri, and Brad S. Flannery and his wife, Wendy; 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Pearl and Maggie; husband, Lewis; brothers, Wilbert, Gerald and George; sisters, Regina, Adeline and Maggie; and a granddaughter, Joanne E. Trefethen. The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Penobscot Nursing Home, with special thanks to Dianne Johnson and Dr. Newkirk for the wonderful care Dorothy received at the facility. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Castine Cemetery, Castine, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
