BELFAST and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Dorothy Alice Wentworth, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, after a long illness. She was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Appleton, the daughter of Harry Miller Sr. and Alice Stover Miller. Most of her life she worked for Daley Bros., Viners, and Truitt Bros. shoe factories as a stitcher. During World War II, she was a welder in Portland working on Battleships. In recent years, she enjoyed her life in Zephyrhills, Fla. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Romaine Johnson of Searsport, and Gail Copson of Orrington; brother, Harry Miller Jr. and wife, Theresa, of Belfast; sister, Jenny Nash and husband, Frank, of Alfred; sister, Maxine Millay and husband, Clyde of Washington; sister, Juanita Worthing and husband, George of Liberty; sisters-in-law, Isabel Miller of Hope, and Winnifred Miller of Virginia; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wentworth of Belfast; four grandchildren, Tuesdi and Michael Woodworth of Bar Harbor, David Johnson and Sally of Carmel, Ind., Tina and Dennis Merry of Swanville, and Stacey and Rodney Morneault of Orrington. She had six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Vaughn Wentworth; brothers, Rupert, Roland and Leland Miller; and son-in-law, Frederick Copson. We would like to thank the Waldo County Home Health and Hospice for their caring help and support. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Searsmont. Arrangements are by the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home on Waldo Ave. in Belfast.
