PRINCETON – Dottie went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident in Wyoming, Iowa. Dottie was the daughter of Bourdon and the late Janyce Scribner of Harrison. She married Michael Marshall and had two children, Jennifer and Jason. Dottie and Mike’s residence is in Township 21 near Princeton, where Mike is a game warden sergeant. Dottie grew up in Harrison, and graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1974. She later earned a degree from Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1975 and became a licensed practical nurse. Dottie has worked as a nurse in hospitals in Augusta, Norway, and Calais and in a Houlton nursing home. Dottie served the Lord throughout her life in many ways. For many years, she was a camp nurse and counselor at Baptist Youth Camp in Charlotte and other Christian youth camps. She was a youth group leader and church treasurer at Lake Road Bible Church in Monticello and Princeton Baptist Church. She also was a preschool teacher at Military Street Nursery School in Houlton. Dottie was a dedicated wife and mother, always putting her Christian service and family first in her life. She also loved fishing, gardening, cooking, sewing, reading, swimming, berry-picking, and working with children. Dottie and Mike served together as foster parents. Recently, she enjoyed preparing her daughter’s wedding at Clifford Lake in July. Dottie is survived by her husband, Mike; daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Jake Swisher, of Alma, Colo.; and son, Jason of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is also survived by her father, Bourdon Scribner; five brothers, David, Randy, Edwin, Wendall, and Dale Scribner; three sisters, Connie Arnott, Jean Cummings, and Martha Denison; and grandmother, Louise Burhoe; her mother and father-in-law, Roger and Nat Marshall, who reside at Bear Pond in Hartford; and sister-in-law Linda Mitchell. Visiting hours will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Princeton Baptist Church in Princeton. A committal service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Auburn. Pastors David Barribeau and Dana Kadey will be officiating. All are welcome. Any memorial donations can be sent to Scott-Wilson Funeral Home to be given to Baptist Youth Camp in Charlotte.
