BAR HARBOR – Dorothy “Dot” Blanche Thurston, 48, died Feb. 16, 2005 at MDI Hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1956, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Leo and Pierrette “Toni” (Boulanger) Boisvert of Bar Harbor. Dot worked at the Acadia Restaurant in Bar Harbor and the Moorings Restaurant in Manset for many years. She also was employed by the Atlantic Oaks, and most recently she was back to work at the Acadia Restaurant. She was very devoted to her family, parents, husband, and her children. Dot was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Bar Harbor. Dot is survived by her parents; her husband of 18 years, William “Bill” Thurston of Bar Harbor; six children, Sean Baker and wife, Jen, of Hampden, Chris Baker and wife, Molly, of Bar Harbor, Erica and fianc?, Paul Durgin, of Bar Harbor, Renee Thurston and fianc?, Richard Misiaszek, Ingrid Thurston and Bo Thurston, all of Bar Harbor; three brothers, Peter Boisvert and wife, Susan, of Boothbay, Paul Boisvert and wife, Linda, and Claude Boisvert, both of Bar Harbor; one sister, Denise and husband, Rick Daugherty, of Bass Harbor; and three grandchildren, Alexis, Lillian, and Emilia Baker; nieces and nephews, Jaime, Alisha, Paul Jr., and Emily; mother-in-law, Patricia Thurston of Bass Harbor; and special friend, Maria Candage of Town Hill. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Bar Harbor. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Bar Harbor. Dot’s family would like to say a special thanks to her doctors and nurses in Bar Harbor and the staff in Oncology, especially Joyce, who was always there.
