JONESPORT – Dorothy “Aunt Dot” G. Murray, 82, passed away May 3, 2007, after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Jonesport, the daughter of the late Hallie and Albertina (Alley) Urquhart. During her lifetime, Dorothy worked at the clothing press factory in Cumberland, Stinson’s Canning, Prospect Harbor, and the salmon-processing factory in Beals. Dorothy was a member of the Community of Christ, formerly RLDS. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, Buster and spending time with her dogs. Dorothy will be remembered for being an outdoors person, enjoying the water, swimming, gardening and picking berries. Dorothy was full of life and enjoyed to laugh. She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Llewellyn “Buster” Murray, in 1984; a daughter, Katherine Wright; sisters, Aretta (Urquhart) Norton and Lorna (Urquhart) Merritt; and brothers, Harry Urquhart and Hallie Urquhart Jr. Dorothy is survived by a sister, Frances Kilton; a brother, Percy Urquhart; niece, Dorothy Cifelli and husband, Joe and their children, Brittany and Kristen Sawyer, and Brandon Libby; many other nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bobby Gray. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias. A funeral service will be held at a later date.
