BANGOR – Veronica “Vi” Murphy, 76, died May 3, 2007, at a local hospital after a long illness. She was born June 20, 1930, in Caswell, the daughter of Sterling and Teresa (Morin) Hazelwood. Vi spent many years as a counselor for Hunting General Hospital, Jamaica Plantation, Mass. She retired and moved back to Maine 17 years ago. Vi was a loving sister and aunt. She loved to drive through and visit the countrysides of Maine. She loved all animals, especially her cat, Troubles. Veronica was predeceased by her parents; five brothers, Austin, Vincent, Earl, Melvin and Sterling Hazelwood; three sisters, Doris Hazelwood, Phyllis McKenzie and Teresa Fiereno. She is survived by one brother, Lenten Hazelwood; two sisters, Stella Wesson and Anna Salls; many nieces, nephews and friends, who loved her. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
