SHIN POND and PATTEN Dorothy H. (Lounder) Susee, 86, wife of 49 years to the late Ronald Susee, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Crestfield Nursing Home, Manchester, Conn. She was born Oct. 17, 1921, in St. Croix , New Brunswick, the daughter of the late Walter and Cora (Allen) Lounder. She was a member of Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church of Patten and United Methodist Women’s Club. Dorothy was a former patient’s activities coordinator at Mountain Heights Health Care Facility, Patten, and a member of Ombudsman Volunteer program for 15 years. She was active in the Maine Federated Woman’s Club, the Noel Club of Sherman and a proud member of the “Shin Pond Babes.” She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Susee and Dennis Anderson and granddaughter, Kacey Anderson, of Vernon, Conn.; sister, Betty Sweet; brother, Frank Lounder, both of New Brunswick; three very dear nieces and their husbands, Renee and John Werner of Bristol, Conn., Bonnie and James Foss of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Alma and Les Hill of Patten; a nephew, Joe Susee of Kenduskeag; great-niece, Linda Smith and husband, Jason; great-nephew, Todd Chase and wife, Belinda; and Grammie Aunt Dot’s “Little Men,” Wyatt and Chandler Smith, Nathan and Alex Chase. Dot will be missed by her many family members and friends. She was predeceased by her nephew, Glen Veysey. A memorial service at Stetson Memorial Methodist Church, Patten, and burial at Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, will take place in the spring.
