BANGOR – Dorothy M. Foster, 94, died May 9, 2007, at a local nursing center. She was born May 13, 1912, in Caribou, the daughter of Fred and Lottie (Pelletier) Parent. She was educated in the Caribou school system. She was known as “Aunt Dot” to many. Dorothy and her husband, George, operated a grocery store on Hancock Street for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the women’s council, and the Ave Marie Circle Daughters of Isabelle. She was active with the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and the Bangor Senior Citizen Cub. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Cunliffe of Holden and her dear friend, Bill Picard; a special sister-in-law, Mary Foster Searway and her husband, George E. Searway of Bangor; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, George; brother, Kenneth; sisters, Fern Thibodeau and Joan Holmes. Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church in the chapel of St. Judes. Interment will be after in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. After the graveside prayers friends are invited for conversation and refreshments back to the parish hall of St. John’s.
