TOWN HILL – Dorothy M. Hadley, 101, died Sept. 16, 2004, at a Mount Desert Island healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 9, 1903, in Preston, England, the daughter of Allen B. and Janet E. (Daltress) Mills. Dorothy had been a member of the Town Hill Federated Church and served on the Home Extension and Ladies Club. She had also been a member of the Mount Desert Bird Club, the Mt. View Grange No. 484, and the Mount Desert Island Literary Club. She is survived by a son, Frederick A. Hadley and wife, Joan, of Wellsboro, Pa.; a daughter, Barbara J. Richard-son, of Town Hill; five grandchildren, Lynne Richardson, Steven Richardson, Arlene LeRoy, Scott Hadley, and Janice Chamberlain; and six great-grandchildren, Stephanie Foun-taine, Sam Richardson, Blake, Ross, Tyler and Rachel Chamberlain. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Frederick G. Hadley in 2001; and her son-in-law, Ralph M. Richardson. Friends are invited to call 5:30-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at the Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, with the Rev. William M. Bigelow Jr., officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Town Hill. Those who desire may make contributions in Dorothy’s memory to the charity of ones choice.
