OLD TOWN and FARMINGDALE – Dorothy Mae Howard, 66, died Feb. 26, 2006, at Maine General Hospital, Augusta. She was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Costigan, a daughter of Elmer L. Howard Sr. and Annie M. (Whitlock) Howard. Dorothy enjoyed arts and crafts and chatting with her friends. She is survived by a brother, Elmer L. “Sonny” Howard Jr. and his wife, Frances, of Old Town; two sisters, Elsie M. Stone and her husband, Roger, of Orono and Louise E. Wickett and her husband, Arthur, of Old Town; a very special friend, Rosemary Pickell of Waterville, who cared for Dorothy at Halldale Manor in Farmingdale; several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents. A private graveside service will be held later in the spring at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Arrangements by Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.
