PRESQUE ISLE – Dorothy T. Kinney, 82, died Sept. 12, 2007, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born April 16, 1925, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Linas and Inez (Haines) Billings. Dorothy was a strong matriarch of the family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand-mother. She owned and operated a beauty parlor in Presque Isle for many years and was always a very giving person. She is survived by four sons, Robert G. Kinney and his wife, Barbara, of Presque Isle, Richard J. Kinney and his wife, Terri, of Riverside, Calif., David Kinney Sr. and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Tardiffville, Conn., and Jeffrey Kinney of Caribou; a brother, Linas “Billy” Billings and his wife, Shirley, of Eagle Lake; four sisters, Avis Chapman of Caribou, Alice Cannon of Dover Foxcroft, Betty Voisine and her husband, Delbert, of Westfield and Alberta Viel of Presque Isle; eight grandchildren, Robbie, Julie, Jim, Kathy, Kristyn, Rene, Dianna, and David Jr.; several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Graden; and a sister, Shirley Rogers. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service. A committal will take place at a later date at Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may make donations to the charity of one’s choice.
