BREWER – Dorothy Winsor Wilbur, 90, passed away Nov. 1, 2007, at her home. She was born May 26, 1917, in Greenville, R.I., the daughter of Clifford E. and Isabell A. (Winsor) Wilbur. Ms. Wilbur received her bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Rhode Island. She taught for more than 30 years at Cranston High School East, Cranston, R.I. She was a past state regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Rhode Island, and past president of the Rhode Island chapter of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She remained active in both organizations until her death. Ms. Wilbur moved to Brewer in 2006 and was a member of Twin City Baptist Church, Brewer. She is survived by her brother, Leslie C. Wilbur; and nephews, Clifford, Kenneth, Ted and Chris Wilbur. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with Pastor Virgil Phinney, pastor of Twin City Baptist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, after the service. Interment will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Rev. Samuel Winsor Family Cemetery, Johnson, R.I.
