ORRINGTON and BREWER Everett Leroy Beatham, 95, passed away peacefully Nov. 1, 2007, at a Brewer nursing facility. Everett was born Jan. 31, 1912, in Brewer, the son of Leroy K. and Clara B. (Downs) Beatham. Everett grew up in Brewer and was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1929. He began working for New England Telephone and Telegraph, where he made a lifelong career. Everett took great pride in his family farm while his children were growing up, raising cows, pigs and always a large garden. He was known as an avid reader of many subjects, a coin collector, and took great interest in politics and the stock market, he could often be found sorting beans and watching the market report. Everett was also a 32nd degree Mason with Ralph J. Pollard Lodge No. 217 AF & AM. Everett is survived by his six children, Richard and Lucy Beatham of Orrington, Robert Beatham of Costa Rica, Arthur and Stella Beatham of Picacho, Ariz., Nancy Wall of South Portland, Peggy Gagne, of Connecticut, and Tom and Jan Beatham of Orrington; one sister, Patricia and Roland Fournier of Brewer; many special grandchildren; and special friends, Jack and Carol Corrigan of Bucksport. Everett was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Ella (Preble) Beatham. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Kiley and Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, with the Rev.
