STEUBEN – Dorward E. McLain, 68, passed away Oct. 19, 2007, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth. He was born July 2, 1939, in Stacyville, son of Edward and Shirley (Garnett) McLain. He worked as a mechanic and lobsterman. He loved watching the Boston Red Sox. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Dorward is survived by his wife of 50 years, Evangeline (Pinkham) McLain; one son, Everett McLain and wife, Debbie, of Arkansas; two daughters, Lois Look and Dodge of Steuben and Regina Day and Mike Royce of Harrington; grandchildren, Michael and April Bellatty of Steuben, Thomas and Kris of Winter Harbor, Melissa Parker of Steuben, and Charlotte and Steve of Birch Harbor; great-grandson, Keagon Bellatty of Steuben; as well as, many more special friends, Fred T., Jeff Bragdon, Clarence and Gladys Suydam, Aunt Tina, Uncle Rod, Paul, Timmy and Cheryl. A gathering of family and friends will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Lois’ home, 328 Dyer Bay Road, Steuben. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
