MONROE – Douglas Mclain, 77, devoted husband of the late Geraldine Robert-son Mclain, died peacefully Wed-nesday, April 20, 2005, at Maefair of Trumbull. Born Aug. 14, 1927, in Waite, he was the son of the late Llewelyn and Lettie Lamson Mclain. Mr. Mclain was a Fairfield County resident for most of his life. He had served with the Merchant Marines during World War II and moved to Connecticut in his early 20s and lived in Fairfield County for the rest of his life. He retired from the Mohican Valley Construction Co., where he had been operator/foreman for more than 35 years. After retiring, he enjoyed spending summers in Maine. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing and camping. Mr. Mclain is survived by his two daughters, Francine Dobler and her husband, Frank, of Monroe and Nancy Lee Dobler-Alvarez of Milford. He was known as Baba to many, especially his three grandchildren, Kristen Dobler Stewart and her husband, William, Douglas Alvarez and Brandon Alvarez.
