CORINTH – Dwight A. “Skip” McLaughlin, 69, the husband of Eleanor (Hill) McLaughlin died unexpectedly Feb. 23, 2005, at his home. He was born July 11, 1935, in Chapman, the son of John and Helen (Buck) McLaughlin. He attended Corinth schools and served with the U.S. Marines. He had been a shoe shop employee for 20 years, after which he worked as a carpenter and also owned and operated Skip’s Upholstery. He had been a lifelong volunteer of the Corinth Fire Dept., a member of the Corinth Ambulance Service, a longtime member of the Corinth American Legion, the Kenduskeag Lodge, AF & AM and the Central Maine Fish and Game Association. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 48 years, are a daughter, Donna Caron and her husband, Ron, of Glenburn; two sons, Jeffrey McLaughlin and Stephen McLaughlin and his wife, Janet, all of Corinth; his stepmother, Lorraine McLaughlin of Glenburn; a sister, Nancy Adams and her husband, Galen, of Levant; three brothers, Joel McLaughlin and his wife, Elizabeth of Corinth, Barry McLaughlin and his wife, Kimberly, of West Tremont and Larry McLaughlin and his wife, Sue Ellen, of Old Town; two sisters-in-law, Carol McLaughlin of Corinth and Sheila McLaughlin of Presque Isle. He will be especially missed by four grandchildren, Danielle McLaughlin, Zachary Caron, Ashley Lacardi and Joshua McLaughlin; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Mervin McLaughlin. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where a Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Cynthia Nickerson officiating. Spring burial will be in the Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the Corinth Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O.
