ST. ALBANS – Earle R. Jones, 77, died July 14, 2006, at his residence. He was born Jan. 23, 1929, in St. Albans, a son of Fredrick and Gladys (Weeks) Jones. He was employed 10 years for J. R. Construction in Pittsfield, 20 years for Local 4, Hoisting Engineers in Boston and operated his own construction company in St. Albans for 16 years. Earle also did grant work for the University of Maine. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, the Board of Directors for Sebasticook Farms for 10 years and the St. Albans Planning Board. He is survived by his wife, Vertina Pearl Jones; a daughter, Donna Davis of Corinna; seven brothers, Fred and David, both of St. Albans, Ralph of Bancroft, Clarence of Canaan, Maurice of Harmony, Edwin of Alton and Richard of Palmyra; four sisters, Maxine Ervin of Corinna, Shirley Hewins of Newport, Faye Lawrence and Marjorie Weeman, both of St. Albans; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert; two brothers, Herbert and Carl; and a grandson, Brad Davis. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the Village Cemetery, St. Albans, with the Rev. Ronnie Libby officiating.
