MILLINOCKET – Edgar E. Carr Sr., 96, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at the Katahdin Nursing Home in Millinocket. He was born Dec. 27, 1908, in Houlton, the son of Melvin and Annie (Powers) Carr. He was the husband of the late Hazel M. (Weed) Carr who died in 1983. Ed worked for Maine Forestry Service during World War II and later worked as a railroad engineer for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad for 48 years retiring in 1974. Ed was a 75-year member of Nollesemic Lodge No. 205 AF & AM, a member of the Scottish Rite for more than 50 years and a member of Anah Temple Shrine. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Edgar E. Jr. and Dawn Carr of Millinocket Lake; his granddaughter, Nancy Carr of Dixfield; and several nieces and nephews. Ed’s family will always be grateful for the kindness and special care Ed received while a resident at Katahdin Nursing Home. Services will be private.
