FORT FAIRFIELD – Edith H. Giggey Chapman, 91, died March 3, 2007, at a Caribou health care facility. She was born May 8, 1915, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Odbrey S. and Ella J. (Rogers) Higgins. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Fairfield, where she was a member of the Class of 1933, a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the E.C.W., the alter guild, member and past noble grand of the Starlight Rebekah Lodge No. 82, member and past worthy matron of the Good Will Chapter No. 85, O.E.S. Edith was predeceased by her first husband, Robert R. Giggey, May 30, 1982; her second husband, Loomis C. Chapman, April 14, 1994; two brothers, Harold F. Higgins and Vaughn A. Higgins; and six sisters, Harriett A. and Alice G. Higgins, Clara L. Stone, Audrey P. Towle, Mildred E. Barnes, and Hazel M. Merrithew. Mrs. Chapman is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and her husband, Howard Dee, of Marysville, Ohio, and Gail and her husband, Colby Boyd Sr., of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Fort Fairfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert R. Giggey Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Hartand, and Gary R. Giggey and special friend, Diana Chambers, of Fort Fairfield; 15 grandchildren, several great-grand-children, great-great-grand-children, nieces and nephews. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of funeral services Tuesday, March 6, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 Main St., Fort Fairfield. Services will be conducted 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robert Smith officiating. Spring interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in the memory of Mrs. Chapman to either the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, care of Gloria Towle, P.O.
