BANGOR and LINCOLN – Edith Hamilton, former resident of Freese’s Assisted Living Residence, Bangor, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Colonial Health Care, Lincoln. She was born July 9, 1916, in Bonny River, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Harry A. and Florence (Sherwood) Craig. She was the wife of Nels Hamilton, who passed away December 1980. She lived in the Danforth and Bangor areas and for many years worked at the Eastern Maine General Hospital. She is survived by her five children and their families, a devoted and caring daughter and son-in-law, Joyce (Lee) and Frank Fish of Lincoln, Hazel (Lee) and Dr. Orland Anderson of Saratoga, Calif., Adelbert W. “Bud” Lee of Bangor, Donna (Lee) and David Chase of Gwinn, Mich. and Sharon (Lee) Snyder of Enfield, Conn.; four sisters and their families, Florence Chambers, Mary Steen, Shirley and Clinton Hatt, all of St. George, New Brunswick and Eileen and Frederick McLellan of St. Stephens, New Brunswick; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred MacDonald and Frances Justason; and two granddaughters, Lynn Falconi and LuEllen Fish. Family and friends are invited to visit 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, where a funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. with Pastor William Bewell officiating. Private interment will be in the Springfield Village Cemetery at a later date.
