OLD TOWN and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Edmund Albert Cyr Sr., 82, passed away Dec. 9, 2004, with his daughters by his side. He was born Feb 28, 1922, in Old Town a son of Albert and Antoinette (LaForest) Cyr. Edmund was a veteran of World Word II and the Air National Guard. He was a member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed doing crafts, traveling, and watching football. He is retired from James River after working 33 years. He is survived by his children, Edmund A. Cyr Jr. and Ann Cyr, of Old Town, Sharon Soucie and her husband, Phil, of Glenburn, Michael Cyr of Millinocket; grandchildren Eric Soucie of Vermont, and Timothy Soucie of Augusta; his brother, John Cyr and his wife, Bea; his sisters, Joan Doucette and her husband, Emile, Patricia Martin and her husband, Phil; and brother, Tom Cyr and his wife, Charotte, as well as several nieces and nephews; his stepdaughter, Nancy and her husband, Richard Ginn, of Bucksport and their children, Shane and Colleen and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Agnes Pelletier Cyr, and recently by his second wife, Joyce Bridges Simpson Cyr; his sister, Arteline Gotlieb; and brother, Joseph Cyr. He will be sadly missed. A funeral service will be conducted noon Saturday Dec. 18, 2004, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, with the Rev. Normand Richard, officiating.
