MILFORD – Edmund J. Dupuis Jr., 71, passed away unexpectedly Tues-day, Jan. 27, 2004, at his residence. He was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Old Town, son of the late Edmund Sr. and Delena (Damien) Dupuis. Edmund was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp for three years serving in the Korean War. He was proud to serve his country and was never hesitant to share his stories and experiences. He was an active member of the VFW Old Town Post No. 3381. Edmund was an artist and revealed his talent through the many water colored paintings, charcoal drawings and signs that he had crafted. He enjoyed any type of music but was fond of Big Band, Classical and Brass. He enjoyed playing his trumpet, fishing, hunting and collecting various types of coins, dolls, rocks and many other miscellaneous items. The family would like to send a sincere Thank You to Sheriff Jared Austin of the Penobscot Sheriff’s Office for his care and compassion when it was greatly needed. Edmund is survived and will be sadly missed by daughters, Debra Randall and her fianc‚, Rob, of Sanger, Texas, Delena Webber of St. Louis, M.; step-daughters, Tina Castro of Independence, Kan., Lucy Thibeault and her husband, Wayne, of Hudson; three sisters, Leoni Richard of Orono, Jeannette Savage of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Evelyn Luce of Old Town; two brothers, Louis and Norman Dupuis of Old Town; eight grandchildren, Shari, Shane, Jessica, Brad, Edmund, Tarsha, Cynthia and Tiffany; great-grandchild, Jazmyne; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 30 years, Ruth; daughter, Sue-Ellen; stepson, Jerry Johnston; stepgrandson, Eric Thibeault; one sister; and four brothers. Friends may call 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town where the VFW will conduct a prayer service at 1 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life. Interment with full military honors will be held in the spring at Milford Cemetery.
