MAPLETON – Edmund J. Paradis, 70, died Sunday morning at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. He was born Dec. 20, 1934, at Eagle Lake on the son of Ovilla and Mattie (Voisine) Paradis. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Edmund worked at Potato Service, Inc. as a forklift operator for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, loved to play beano, and was an avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by his wife, Eveline (Bernier) Paradis; and his son, William Paradis Sr., both of Mapleton; a grandson, William Paradis Jr. of Presque Isle; a brother, Paul Paradis of South Lincoln; three sisters, Lillian Hall of Chelsea, Myrtle Speiss of Edinburg, and Irene “Sylvia” Tozier of Howland. Several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Main Street, Presque Isle with the Rev. Chanel Cyr officiating. Relatives and friends may call 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Spring interment will be at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.
