PRESQUE ISLE- Edna M. Staples, 89, died Dec. 11, 2003, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born Dec. 1, 1914, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Allen and Effie English. She was a member of the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church in Presque Isle. She enjoyed cooking, reading and loved cats. She is survived by her husband, Gerald S. Staples of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Don English and a twin sister, Ethel English. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Blackstone officiating. Friends and relatives may call from 1 p.m. until time of service. Spring interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Parkinson Disease Foundation, 710 West 168th St., New York, N.Y., 10032 or to the charity of one’s choice.
