HANCOCK – Edna Mae Kief, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born March 24, 1930, in Milbridge, the daughter of Clarence and Clara (Leighton) Lewis. Edna was a member of Teamsters Local No. 493 in New London, Conn. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and other items and working with her hands. She is survived by a very special sister and caregiver, Velma Rogers and her husband, Sumner, of Hampden; a brother-in-law, Leaman Chipman of Birch Harbor; several nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Gilman Kief in 2001; two sisters, Marjorie Wright in 1981 and Kay Chipman in 2004; two brothers, Arthur Reed in 1997 and Ray Lewis in 1998. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 until the funeral service at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. James Heard. Interment will be at Birch Harbor Cemetery, Gouldsboro.
