HANCOCK – Olandra Irene Lancaster, 58, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Bangor, the daughter of Oland and Irene (Judkins) Lancaster. Olandra worked for DEH Operating Company for MDI Workshop for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needlework and donated many hours in nursing homes in the area, helping patients make crafts. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Trenton. Olandra moved to Alton to take care of her only relative, a cousin, Clyde Dority, who predeceased her. She was a very caring, unselfish person, giving her time to anyone who needed it. Olandra spent many hours helping care for the animals at the Animal Orphanage in Old Town where she got her feline “best friend,” Smoke. Graveside memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
