BANGOR – Edna Shirley Fye Rogerson, 74, died Oct. 17, 2007, at a Bangor hospital after a tragic accident. She was born July 31, 1933, in Bangor, the daughter of Donald and Jesse (Betts) Scovil. Edna worked for 19 years at the Broadway Coffee Shop as a waitress doing what she loved best, meeting people. She also worked at Helen’s Fairmount Restaurant for many years. Edna will be remembered as a lady that liked to socialize, talking with folks and enjoying their company. She was a member of the Salvation Army, Bangor. She is survived by two sons, Lewis W. Fye and wife, Cindy, of High Springs, Fla., and Mark Fye of Lewiston; three daughters, Linda Clarke of Bangor, Judy Philbrook of Louisiana, and Sandy Mc-Laughlin and husband, Clay, of Topsham; two brothers, Edward Scovil of Springvale and Robert Scovil of Bangor; a sister, Erlene Alves and husband Tony of Vasselboro; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Edna will be missed by dear friends, Lucinda Brothers, Phyllis and Vaughn Moody, and Dennis and Sue McCurdy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Richard Fye Sr. in 2007; a brother, William Scovil; and a sister, Phyllis Morrill. Friends are invited to call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, with Capts. Josh and Catherine “Cat” Lyle, of the Salvation Army, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service.
