BUCKSPORT – Edward Clement Wight, 95, passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008. He was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Bucksport, the son of Harry and Lena (Clement) Wight. Edward took great pride in working on his farm raising cattle, pigs and running Wight’s Dairy for more than 50 years. He enjoyed his weekend milk route getting to visit with customers and enjoying good conversation. He loved working in his garden each spring and driving tractors during hay season. Most of all, he was very devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were his pride and joy. He was a loyal wonderful man, who worked hard at everything he did. Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be sadly missed by his family. Edward is survived by his wife of 73 years, Olive H. (Orcutt) Wight; three sons, Donald Wight and wife, Silvia, Charles Wight and wife, Elizabeth, and Philip Wight Sr. and wife, Gail; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Goode and husband, Leonard, all of Bucksport. He also has nine grandchildren, Steven Wight and wife, Gail, of Bucksport, Judy Cole and husband, Freddie, of Sedgwick, Charles Wight and wife, Lisa, of Gardiner, Michael Wight and wife, Theresa, of South China, David Wight and wife, Jill, of Morrill, Philip Wight Jr. and wife, Nick-ey, of Bucksport, Cheryl Robinson and husband, Randy, of Bucksport, Raymond Wight and wife, Linda, of Orland and Kathy Heath and husband, Shawn, of Bucksport; and 18 great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Bucksport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Yellow School House, Annette Valenoti, 378 State Route 46, Bucksport, ME 04416.
