ORONO and MARS HILL – Edward E. Gilman, 62, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at his Orono residence. He was born Sept. 12, 1943, in Easton, the son of Earl and Kathleen (Hersey) Gilman. Edward was a graduate of the Aroostook Central Institute in Mars Hill, worked for the telephone company for many years and he also owned a pizza house in Mars Hill. In years past he also enjoyed racing stock cars. In addition to his mother, Kathleen of Mars Hill; he is survived by a son, Kevin E. Gilman of Arizona; a daughter, Kori Thomas and her husband, Matt, of Mississippi; a brother, Charles William and his wife, Wanda, of Missouri; a sister, Donna Brewer and her husband, Robie, of Blaine; two grandchildren, Lily and Cash Thomas, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Linwood Hersey. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Blaine Cemetery with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
