BURNHAM – Edward “Ed” John Bubar, 58, died unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at home after a brief illness. He was born May 25, 1948, in Hartland, son of Doris Swift Bubar and John E. Bubar. Ed lived almost all his life in Burnham, except for a few years in Michigan. Ed married Rita Flood Dunton, Oct. 3, 1992. Ed graduated from Maine Central Institute and trained and spent his whole career in welding and fabrication. In his early career, Ed worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth; Bohm Aluminum Brass, Holland, Mich.; and Main Cascade Iron Works, Clinton. He was proud of a 26-year career in fabrication with Cianbro Corporation working in Pittsfield, as an estimator for the last 13 years, until April of this year. Ed was a man who liked the simple things in life, going to work every day and being with the people he cared about and loved. He spent countless hours doing deeds of kindness for his family, especially for his children and grandchildren. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, son, son-in-law and friend. His favorite place to spend time was at he and Rita’s camp on Moose Pond, Hartland, with his grandchildren teaching them to fish, swim, and enjoy the great outdoors. He always had the campfire going, ready to cook for his family and friends. Ed enjoyed hunting, staying on the coast in different camps in Northern Maine and traveling with his wife, Rita, out west and in Florida. He enjoyed being out on his tractor and looked forward to retiring in a few years to his camp in Hartland, traveling the country and spending more time with the ones he loved, doing what he enjoyed. Ed was predeceased by his father, John Bubar and grandson, Matthew King. Ed is survived by his wife, Rita; his daughter, Lori Ann King and her husband, Jeff, and his grandson, Cody; his son, Todd Bubar and his granddaughter, Mariah; his stepson, William Dunton and grandchildren, Indy and Shelby; his mother, Doris Bubar; brothers, Dean Bubar and wife, Effe, Larry David Bubar, Thomas Bubar, Donald Bubar and wife, Roberta; sister, Linda Pomeroy and companion, Kim Hunt; brother-in-law, Neil Flood and wife, Hilda; his ex-wife, Donna Bubar; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
